What we think

Agent

The property was refurbished in 2007, combining original beams, slate and wooden floors with all modern conveniences. The house is set off the road, down a small lane. Views from the property are across beautiful open countryside; it is very peaceful and tranquil. Ger-y-Castell is very central for lots of tourist attractions - Port Madoc Beach and Betws-Y-Coed to name but two. There is a great playground in Dolwyddelan village and a family friendly public house which serves great food!

Inside

This property is very well presented, with clean lines and modern leather furniture and soft furnishings. However, none of the depth of history of the property has been lost with original features retained and interesting references to the property's historical background throughout.

The property is heated by gas central heating, there is also under floor heating in the sitting and dining room, and a multi-fuel burning stove in either room - perfect for breaks in the colder months - there are fires lit in both rooms when guests visit in the winter months to ensure a warm welcome!

You enter the property through an original porch way with chapel seats either side. The living room has original stripped paneling, wooden floors, beamed ceiling, and a cast iron fireplace. The furniture is leather and contemporary in style. There is a TV with DVD and Sky channels. There is also internet access in this room (guests will need to bring their own laptop). The living room leads in to the dining room, which features a large wooden table and 8 chairs. There is a multi fuel stove within the huge fireplace and slate flooring. The kitchen (within easy access of the dining room) is well equipped with electric oven and 4 ring hob, dishwasher, fridge & freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer - as well as a wine cooler which can hold up to 40 bottles of wine!

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a kingsize double bed in a spacious room, complete with an ensuite bathroom. There is a second double bedroom and also a twin room. The decor on the first floor is cool and modern, giving the feeling of space.

Outside

Outside there is a lovely wooded garden which is almost entirely enclosed and perfect for playing and exploring. There is a bench and also a patio table and chairs for al fresco dining or for simply taking in the breathtaking views. Beyond the perimeter of the garden are stunning views of open countryside.

Baby Friendly

  • Almost enclosed garden area
  • Stair gates
  • Travel Cot and cot linen
  • Baby monitor

  • Fire guards

And Beyond

The property is 30 minutes from beautiful Black Rock sands, which is a legendary family beach! There is a super play area for children within the village of Dolwyddelan. Greenwood Park is great for young children, and is also less than 40 minutes away, near Bangor.
