Finca La Luci

I just love traditional Spanish country villas, and one of the best things about Finca la Luci is the outdoor space, bordered by such a wonderful landscape & full of all the sounds and scents of rural Spain. 

With a huge BBQ and a choice of "al fresco" dining spaces to choose from, there is also a fresh herb garden and fabulous kitchen, all set for you to enjoy the flavours of Spain in this beautiful part of Andalucia.  

There are terraces to enjoy either sun or shade, and magnificent views across acres of olive trees, to the castle of Olvera beyond.  The property has been recently refurbished but maintains lots of Spanish character and it is very well equipped for a relaxing family holiday with young children.

The children will love the pool and it will be hard to tear them away, but there are plenty of places to visit nearby for a taste of Andalucian culture.  From the pretty white washed villages, famous for their Moorish architecture, to the shopping and culture of Ronda, which is only a 40 minute drive and built across the iconic El Tajo Gorge - be sure to take a camera!

This child friendly finca has been completely refurbished and is spotlessly clean but with plenty of original features to make it feel homely.

You will be greeted by a wonderful reception room which is flooded with light from the impressive mezzanine landing and skylight.  There is a comfortable family sitting room with an open fire, WiFi, TV (with UK satellite) and DVD player (childrens DVDs available), then through the patio doors you will find the impressive terrace furnished with comfortable sofas just perfect for relaxing with a cool drink while the children play happily.

There is a large and comfortable farmhouse style kitchen which has dining space next to the window with lovely views. It has an open fire (with guard) and all the work space and appliances that you would need to enjoy preparing leisurely meals.  The kitchen also leads off to a separate breakfast terrace, perfect for enjoying the early morning sunlight. 

On the ground floor, there is a convenient bathroom with shower and there is also a utility room (this should be kept closed to prevent toddlers entering) which houses the washing machine, a large drinks fridge, cleaning equipment and a further bathroom. There is also a double bedroom at this level which is normally kept locked for storage but can be made available should guests wish to use it for accompanying grandparents, a nanny or for those with reduced mobility (when this room is in use, an upstairs bedroom will be locked for storage instead, so the house remains a 5 bedroom house). Please enquire in advance to book this room.

Upstairs, the skylight fills the house with sunshine, and you will find no less than five spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms; all of these are bright and decorated in a rustic style, with air conditioning and central heating.  Four of the rooms have double beds, plus a fold away single bed for flexible sleeping arrangements and these enjoy views of either the acres of olive trees, the castle of Olvera or the terraces below.  The twin room has 2 single beds and a cot. This faces a country road (approx. 200m away), which runs through the countryside.  There is room for further cots in each of the other bedrooms.

The finca sits amongst acres of olive groves (many of which belong to the property) and has huge terrace areas wrapping around the property, with fabulous views of the countryside and the town of Olvera on the hillside.

The swimming pool is fully enclosed and there are sunbeds on which to relax whilst the children play.  The pool is chlorine free so is gentler on little eyes. (Pool size approx 2 x 4 metres).

The barbecue area big enough for the best of family celebrations & gatherings, and is well equipped for outdoor living.

There is a lovely shaded terrace just outside the living room, where you can sit and relax in the shade, enjoying the views or keeping an eye on the children in the swimming pool.

Outside the kitchen back door there is a shaded patio area with seating to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or a cool drink in the afternoon sun, and the property is fitted with insect screens and retractable shade for your complete comfort.

The gardens include a herb garden (which guest can use) and a very old olive tree.  There is ample car parking space within the terraces.  All the terraces and garden areas are enclosed with impressive railings, allowing you to take advantage of the beautiful views of the countryside.

• The B road is located about 200 metres from the property, which on the one hand means that the property is not isolated, however some traffic noise may be heard. 
• There are some changes of level between terraces which mean 1 or 2 steps requiring normal supervision.

This wonderful Spanish Finca is only 90 minutes drive from the tourist areas of the Costa del Sol and the Mediterrranean Sea, and is the perfect rural break for family holidays in Andalucia. 

The Spanish sierras in Andalucía are stunning; there are craggy peaks and lush valleys combined with ancient forest woodland, complete with streams, lakes, and rivers, which is why this area is so popular with walkers, cyclists and climbers.

Finca La Luci is nestled between the Sierra (mountains) de Grazalema, Sierra de las Nieves, Serranía de Ronda, Los Alcornocales and the Ardarles lakes, so enjoys a whole continent of landscapes within an hours reach all around.

Nearby there are the traditional white washed villages such as Olvera, Zahara, Benaojan and Montejaque - famous for their ancient Moorish architecture, and worth a visit even if just to sample some local cuisine.

For a little bit of shopping and culture, Ronda is a 40 minute drive, home of  the famous Taro gorge, or a little further afield you can visit the lively, very Spanish cities of Jerez, Cadiz or Sevilla.

Depending on the time of year, visitors will be able to experience all that Spanish culture has to offer, from fiestas to flamenco shows.

A 90 minute drive away, you can spend a day trip on Costa De La Luz, reknowned for its unspoiled white sand beaches and beautiful rolling Atlantic ocean.
