The spacious, open plan sitting area is full of light and is furnished in a mix of maple and white New England style furniture. Three sets of french doors open onto the terrace from the living areas making it easy to combine the two spaces.
The sitting room area has seating for 6 adults plus children with TV and DVD player and a range of DVDs for all ages, as well as books. The dining area is adjacent, open plan again with a maple dining table seating 8, and overlooks the contemporary white and granite kitchen, great for mealtimes indoors with the children or for a get together in the evening. Separated by a breakfast bar, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped for a party of up to 8 and has stylish stainless steel appliances and a fabulous view from the window above the sink. There are more doors from the kitchen on to the covered terrace area which is the perfect spot for the play pen.
Off to the right side of the sitting area is the study or fourth bedroom, which could be used as a play room or quiet space. It has a sofa bed and is a great place to escape the heat of the sun but still be part of all that's going on.
The villa has 3 main bedrooms, all on the ground floor, two doubles with ensuite bath/shower rooms and a third twin bedroom and separate shower room. One double bedroom is off to the right of the entrance hall at the front of the villa; it has space for a cot, plus plenty of storage with full height wardrobes and dressing table. The ensuite bathroom has a shower over the bath and a baby bath, changing mat and toys are provided.

This is a great ‘get away from it all' space for adults, kitted out with some contemporary seating and absolutely stunning 'all round' views over the countryside.
The villa's design combines local traditions with ground-breaking and ecologically advanced construction techniques and includes the resort's signature ‘Coolhouse' system, which brings cooled air into the house through underground tubes, keeping the villa at a stable comfortable temperature, day and night. Heating is also installed throughout the villa if needed out of season.

The resort is tucked away in the beautiful, unspoilt Algarve countryside where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful views but be within a few minutes drive of the nearest towns and beaches. Burgau, the nearest village, has a small supermarket and other shops, a small range of restaurants, bars and cafes, many of which welcome children. The beach is popular with families and has an excellent beach bar. Larger Praia da Luz has a wider selection of restaurants and cafes and two supermarkets, plus a chemist, dentist and doctor's surgery; it is a 10 min drive away.
Lagos is the largest town in the area, bustling and popular with tourists who come to explore the streets of the old town and the huge range of restaurants and eateries, as well as the nightlife. In the summer the square and cobbled streets throng at night with people watching the street entertainers. There's also a Saturday morning ‘farmer's market' (Portuguese style -very different to the UK & France!) where the locals bring their homegrown produce, and the fish market opens early every day.
The local cuisine is one of Portugal's best kept secrets and you can sample a huge choice of style of restaurants and food, with something for everyone. And the Portuguese are so family orientated that children are always welcome at the dinner table, whatever time of day or night!
The western Algarve offers some of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches in Europe - you can always find space and somewhere to park, even in high season - with a little bit of local knowledge. A number are blue flag beaches and those close to the towns are likely to have lifeguard support, sunshade rental and water sports and surf schools too - check information in reception. The Beach Hut Watersports at Praia da Luz has a Beach Kid's Club offering a day long choice of activities for children from the age of 8 to 16 years.
As well as sampling the more sheltered sandy coves all along the south coast from Lagos to the most westerly point Sagres, explore further afield up the west coastline towards Aljezur where the beaches are more rugged and are home to many surfers and windsurfers who come here for the perfect conditions. From here you can explore the protected area of the Costa Vicentina national park which stretches further north up to Sines, with much more to discover.
If you tire of the beach then the area offers a myriad of other activities to try: various boat trips including a pirate ship (an old Portuguese Caravelle) moored in Lagos, or take a small boat to visit the famous grottoes in the cliffs. Sailing and scuba diving are very popular or there is go-karting at the nearby Autodromo on a newly built world class circuit - or why not get a birds eye view of the coast in a hang glider from Lagos aerodrome?
Pony trekking, kayaking, bowling, bird watching, lessons in painting and Portuguese cookery as well as guided walks and mountain biking are all available locally.
You have great family days out at the various water parks or theme parks such as Zoomarine, Slide & Splash, Krazyworld or Lagos Zoo, which is perfect for little ones. For Mum, Dad and Grandparents you could try one of the many vineyards and wine tours available for some more ‘grown up' time, or play a round of golf on one of the many golf courses in the area. Clubs are widely available for hire.
If you need to escape the heat try the Children's Science Centre in Lagos or head to the hills in Monchique where the air is cooler. Inland the rolling countryside is scattered with orange groves where you can explore more of the traditional Algarve, on mapped walks or bike routes, or visit the historical towns of Silves and Alte.
