Great for Groups – Top Tips for Holidays with Friends or Extended Family

Group holidays with young children and friends or extended family can be brilliant, as long you choose the right accommodation. Check out our top tips and property picks for holidaying in a group!

It is possible to opt for privacy AND quality time together

If you like the idea of holidaying with friends or grandparents but would also like some privacy and space of your own, consider booking multiple properties or neighbouring rooms on the same site (such as adjoining suites at family friendly resorts like Domes of Elounda or multiple cottages on family friendly clusters). You could also consider choosing accommodation that has it’s own on-site annex room, perfect for grandparents or another couple, such as Villa Bougainvillea.

Choose large accommodation with a family friendly layout

If you’re holidaying with a large group you may think that bigger accommodation = better. However this isn’t always the case – it’s really important to chose accommodation that is still family friendly and suitable for the needs of your group, for example children may want to sleep in a room that is next to their parents’ room. Take a look at our selection of large family friendly properties such as Red Squirrel House and Chateau Blanc which have plenty of room for everyone and are all completely family friendly.

Consider going big and splitting the cost

Make sure you choose accommodation that everyone can afford, but do consider looking at bigger properties which have plenty of rooms and can be actually be surprisingly affordable once the cost is split between a party of people. For some ideas, take a look here.

More adults = more time to rest!

Not everyone is in to group holidays – spending time away with your extended family or friends may, in actual fact, fill you with a slight feeling of dread! However, remember that when you’re holidaying in a group with other adults, you can take turns watching over the kids whilst the rest of the grown ups get a chance to really relax – perfect if you’re craving a break. And when you can each stay in your own private accommodation, but also spend quality time together onsite as a group, as and when suits you (for example when you book multiple properties at Berry Farm, Almond Grove or Casa Horta and nearby Casa Vinya), holidaying with friends or the in-laws needn’t become a chore!

Book as early as possible

Don’t leave it too late to book – large family friendly properties always tend to get snapped up very quickly! Also the earlier you book as a group, the increased chance you’ll have of everybody being able to make your ideal holiday dates.
