A family-friendly ski haven, La Plagne 1800 combines high-altitude ski and slope-side locations with a child-friendly atmosphere and oodles of activities that you can do with your little ones.
Please see below for the selection of chalets that we have hand-selected here.
The slopes at La Plagne are predominantly focused on beginner and intermediate skiers, with a high proportion of confidence-helping blue and red slopes.
There are still a few challenging black slopes for experts, especially if you head to Les Coqs or Morbleu, which have steeper slopes, or take a look at the off-piste itineraries at Bellecôte.
There are several childcare options available at an additional cost.
À la carte childcare takes place in your own chalet, and all chalets are specially kitted out with their own play rooms, toys, games and books, so little ones will feel comfortable and happy and you won’t have to worry about them.
Equipment hire can be added to your booking; the equipment shop is a very short walk from the chalets and has a number of ski or snowboard hire options.
Exclusive for Tots customers: Free children’s ski and boot hire (ages 3-12) per every adult that books their ski and boot hire at the time of their holiday booking.
The ski lessons are run with the help of Ecole du Ski Francais, and the team are all English-speaking, making it easier for your youngsters to get learning.
The Mountain Marmots childcare sessions include morning ski lessons for children of all abilities, and the nannies will also get your children ready in the chalets and take them to their classes.
There are also adult lessons available onsite.
You can pre-book your lift passes before your stay. Passes for children under the age of five are free, although they will need their own pass and photo; there are options for older children, adults and seniors, as well as a family pass.
There is a small selection of welcoming bars and restaurants in the area.
A must-see is the La Plagne Bobsleigh, a 1507-metre-long bobsleigh track that was originally built for the 1992 Winter Olympics. Your family can take a ride, either alone, or with an experienced sleigher – each bobsleigh holds four people.
A lot of La Plagne’s terrain is at a high altitude, and there are two glaciers, meaning that the area has a good chance of snow; however, the resort also has lots of snowmaking facilities, or the team can shuttle you to local areas for free.
Flights are included in your holiday and run on Saturdays from Gatwick to Geneva. If Gatwick is not easily accessible to you, or you’d rather drive or get the train, please ask.
Airport transfers are included in your stay; however, if you wish to take a private transfer, this can be arranged.
Come here for a luxy twist on your family ski holiday, with in-chalet childcare, family suites and a huge ski area on the doorstep.
