For additional information and the individual Terms and Conditions, please see the 'Need to Know' section for this property.

Upon entering the property, one of the double bedrooms is on the left and is furnished with a large king-size bed. Double doors flood the room with light and a ‘Jack and Jill'  Jacuzzi bathroom leads into the twin bedroom, which is great for children as not only is it next to mum and dad but it is full of toys and books to provide hours of fun.

The bedrooms can be accessed independently from the hallway or from each other. The twin room can also be made into a double room for more than four adults are sharing.

Approx. seven steps from the hallway lead down to the lower ground floor (a stair gate has been fitted top and bottom) where there is a second double bedroom, again beautifully furnished with a king-size bed with a modern and stylish feel.

The triple bedroom houses bunk beds and a single bed and is great again for children with plenty of room to play with all the books, toys and games provided.

Both rooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and seperate shower cubicle.  The layout of the house lends itself perfectly to two families holiday together.

Back upstairs, the upper ground floor is a huge, open plan living space with 12ft exposed oak beams, large A-frames and beautiful oak flooring.

The bespoke kitchen is the social hub of the house with a range cooker and wooden farmhouse kitchen table offering plenty of space for relaxed dining.

The window and door, in the kitchen, look out onto the private, enclosed garden and the pool area beyond making the room ideal for keeping an eye on children playing whilst preparing the family meal.

Those little extras -  To make things a little easier for your arrival you will find a small supply of complimentary essentials including tea, coffee, sugar, washing-up liquid, dish-cloths, dish washer tablets, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling-film and toilet rolls.

The patio door leads down approx. seven steps (with stair gate and hand rail) to the enclosed, private garden and terrace area.  To the left is a large covered gazebo where you can sit and enjoy meals cooked at the chimney style barbecue and use the herb garden supplied while the little ones enjoy the kiddies size table and chairs on the grassy area.

The grassed area is also ideal for sunbathing whilst enjoying some easy reading with magazines and books, all supplied.

Kiddies can have tons of fun with the huge outdoor chalk boards and giant Connect 4.

Parent point:

  • There is a raised bed in the garden which has three stone steps in it; children will need supervised to prevent climbing here

A locked gate leads to heated 12 x 6m swimming pool, which has extra wide steps at the shallow end for little ones to splash around in.  It is shared with two other holiday homes..

The pool has been specifically designed and built with children's enjoyment in mind and has both a safety fence and has lockable child safety gates.

The swimming pool is surrounded by a 1.15 metre high fence. The swimming pool also has a self-sprung lockable gate. On top off these minimum requirements, the owners supply coded padlocks for extra peace of mind.

The swimming pool is heated and a thermal cover is supplied to maintain heat overnight. The swimming pool is cleaned and monitored every other day to ensure the highest standards of health and hygiene is maintained at all times.

There is a hot tub and sauna nearby for when you want to unwind.

Aire Le Pressoir is ideally located just under a minutes' walk from the wonderful village of Angles which offers bars/cafes & restaurants. It's just 8 - 10 minutes' to wonderful 'blue flag' sandy beaches and a short drive to lots of great attractions for the whole family to enjoy.

Angles – a picturesque village – The market town of Angles is found amidst the lovely countryside of the Vendée department of western France, close to the Atlantic coast and on the edge of the Marais Poitevin marshes and waterways.

Angles is typically French, with soft, grey stone buildings built in the traditional style, a lovely church as its centrepiece, and a vibrant twice weekly market. The town is ideally located for accessing the numerous attractions of the region.

Life in the village - Angles has just around 2,000 inhabitants, but there's plenty going on in this little town. The shops can cater for most of your everyday needs, with a good range of small shops, a supermarket, bars and restaurants.

During the summer months the town benefits from a twice weekly market, held on Wednesdays and Sundays, so you can enjoy this typically French way of shopping for your fresh fruit and veg, local wines and cheeses, house wares, plants and even the latest fashions.

Enjoy Angles's colourful festivals - Angles is also home to a lovely church, so often the centrepiece of rural French towns and villages, and this Plantagenet-style building is interesting enough both inside and out to make it worth a visit. Angles hosts some fabulously colourful festivals too, ranging from "moules-frites" meals at a communal table in the village square to jazz concerts, firework displays and children's events, so ask at the town's Office de Tourisme to find out the schedule and how to book tickets if required.

Out and about - Angles is supremely well placed for access to all the very best of the region's attractions.

The seaside resort of La Tranche sur Mer is almost on the doorstep, at less than a ten-minute drive away. Here you can find clean, golden sands, a sunny microclimate (worthy of the south of France) and great family entertainment.

Not much further afield are the calm and scenic waterways of the Marais Poitevin and stunning vistas of vineyards, sunflowers and poppies, depending on the season.

Located so close to the village of Angles, you can visit in the evenings and have a choice of great restaurants or enjoy the large street market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings in the summer months - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.

Either take a leisurely walk down in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants, or stroll down in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants. You don’t have to load all the kids in the car (plus all of the equipment that comes with having a family) to have a great meal out.

You will also find a comprehensive folder in the gîte listing restaurants, activities and local events, as well as plenty of ideas for entertaining the children.

There is a huge write up of over 20 local restaurants that we recommend visiting with the kids and if you want some 'adult time' we also supply the baby-sitting too!

The area around Angles is a gourmet's delight! The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers visiting the town's fish market (open every weekday at 5am) will be able to choose from a range of freshly caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustines & gambas.

Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a leisure rider, this area has plenty of surprises in store for you. All along the 'Loire a Vélo' signposted bike trial, you can marvel at the stunning Loire countryside, visit châteaux & abbeys, stroll through quaint little towns & cycle through vineyards for over 110 miles!

The Val de Loire Vineyards Tourist Trail - 40,000 hectares of ‘dégustation’ - The skills of the vine were introduced by the Romans, and are now one of the main assets of the Pays de la Loire. Sweet, dry, sparkling, white, red or rosé – every one of you will find just what you’re looking for among our prestigious AOC wines. Saumur Brut, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, Saumur-Champigny, Anjou Villages, Muscadet, Jasnières, Mareuil wines... From the Nantes area to Montsoreau, the Val de Loire Vineyards Tourist Trail extends you a warm welcome!

Great Quad/Karting nearby (5 mins from the gite)
Let the kids (and indeed the big boys!) be the next Lewis Hamilton for a while! Whiz around the course and have a great thrill trying to beat your opponents.

For safety reasons, the kids go on the course only with other children and the safety briefing is excellent. Whilst they are having fun on the track, the rest of the party can have a nice coffee in the covered terrace area. www.vendee-kart.fr

Indian Forest Adventure (5 mins from the gite)
This great theme park has marked trails in a forest, as well as 122 different challenges. Suspended on safety harnesses, you are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest at a height of 20ft above the ground.

The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. The "Cercle Nautique Tranchais" (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sand-sailing. The area is also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts

Adventure Park & Chateau (20 mins from the gite)
Experience the ‘historic adventure’ in the setting of the grounds of the 'Chateau de La Guignardiere. Visit four continents of the work and solve the various puzzles as you go round. Get all the answers correct at the end the children get to open the treasure chest which holds a special reward for them. The park is set in 86 hectares of ancient trees, rows of menhires and wonderful animals such as deer, horses, ponies, swans and geese. www.chateau-aventuriers.com

Family adventure/play park (30 mins from the gite)
Just 5 minutes from sandy beaches, this wonderful family adventure/play park is set amongst the forest and offers something for all ages from inflatable slides and castles to pedal karts, electric quads, trampolines, mini-golf, roundabouts and slides plus much more!

Take your own picnic and sit under the many shaded areas, order from their snack bar (pizza, croques-monsieur, hamburgers etc.) or eat in the lovely restaurant next door overlooking the park. Entrance to the park is 3euros for under 10yrs old and 4euros for adults. www.la-beliere-loisirs.com

Excellent golf courses (40 mins from the gite)
France is one of Europe's most popular golfing holiday destinations. It has over 25 of the Top 100 golf courses in Europe - and many golfers are now choosing to play in France rather than the traditional Spanish golf resorts.

French golf courses are of an exceptionally high standard, are competitive and are well managed. We have 5 course within easy reach!

Aquarium La Rochelle (45 mins from the gite)
This is a 2 hour journey into the depth of the ocean – our kids just loved it here. There were over 10,000 Atlantic, Mediterranean and Tropical species to view in an amazing 3 million litres of water. The huge shark aquarium with 20 different species was amazing if not a little frightening (although more so for me than the kids!) An excellent day out, probably one of the best aquariums we have ever visited. www.aquarium-larochelle.com/index.php?id_site=2

Dunes Adventure Park (50mins from the gite)
With over 38 different activities for the children to play on, the kids are bound to find a favourite! The kids will thoroughly enjoy everything on offer especially the water slides, trampolines (fully enclosed) and toboggan rides. A very safe, clean and friendly environment and lots of undercover shaded picnic areas.

Puy du Fou (1hr 30 from the gite)
This is where time stands still - and will be an instant hit with children and adults alike. You'll see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle and Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles!

In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects.

There are minstrels in the heart of the woods and master falconers in the meadows. You must book in advance for the evening show. www.puydufou.com

Cycle rail on tracks (1hr 30 from the gite)
This is a great chance for the entire family to have some quality time together taking in the beautiful countryside, and wildlife whilst enjoying a picnic. The cycle cars are designed for either 4 or 5 people each and run along an amazing 10km stretch of former railway line (of course you don’t have to do it all!) www.cc-atlancia.fr
