Indoors & Outdoors

Recently renovated, and decorated in a real Provençale style with modern furniture that reflects the area you are holidaying in.

  • Open plan living and dining room with beautiful exposed brick walls and beamed ceiling.  French doors open to the terrace with summer kitchen and bar
  • Up gated stairs from the living room you’ll find a mezzanine games room with pool table and den packed with toys
  • Off the downstairs dining room is a fully equipped traditional kitchen with casual dining area
  • Utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Beyond the kitchen is a double/twin bedroom with French doors and en-suite shower room (this bedroom is air-conditioned)
  • On the far side of the house are the other five bedrooms
  • Master bedroom with Jack and Jill bathroom with corner bath and separate shower (second door opens to main corridor)
  • Three further double/twin bedrooms of similar size
  • One single bedroom with two sets of bunkbeds and a stowaway bed
  • Family shower room
  • Two additional loos

Parent point

  • There are two steps from the hall area to the lounge. It is not possible to gate these so please be aware of risk

6600m² of flat mostly grassed enclosed garden await you. A lovely mature garden with lots of fruit trees and different areas to sit, in the sun or shade. You also have a choice of places to dine, from the far shady corner of the garden on the mosaic iron table to right outside the house on the terrace with its Summer kitchen and bar (fridge) close by.

Bring your cars in (parking for at least 4 cars - 2 in a carport for shade) and close the gates behind you, ensuring safety and privacy.

The heated 15m x 5m pool has a large shallow area, which is perfect for toddlers; it is fenced and also protected with an electric hard cover.

Lots of play things are here already - a huge trampoline (with safety nets) - table tennis, a playhut, football nets and lots of other toys.

Parent points:

  • The pond has been made child safe with a water level grill, however keep an eye on tots on this rockery and shallow river water area - although it is great for Summer splashes!
  • Although this is lovely flat, enclosed garden there are some steps and low walls where wobbly walkers will need your attention

What's Around?

Local towns and villages

If you ever finish exploring the extensive grounds of the villa itself, there’s plenty more to discover in the beautiful surrounding countryside and beyond. A quick drive or gentle 2km walk down a quiet country lane brings you to the local village Lagnes. Here you’ll find a lovely children’s park, a wooded paradise for over twos to swing and climb to their heart’s content. You can also rent kayaks and paddle yourself all the way down stream to Isle sur la Sorguel, taking in the fabulous views as you go.

If you’d rather drive than paddle, Isle sur la Sorgue, is easily reached by car. Meander the streets and alleyways of this very pretty town, stop off for a coffee, or peruse the array of lovely little shops. And if you want to grab a bargain, drop in at its popular antique market, well renowned in the area.

Venture a little further afield to explore Cavaillon, Gordes and Roussillon and immerse yourself in this stunning area made famous by Peter Mayle. The Luberon National Park, is a wonderful destination for fabulous walks and bike rides.

With Avignon just 20 minutes away, you can't miss the chance to dance sur le Pont d'Avignon and visit the Palais de Papes. Or for an evening treat, enjoy a night at the lovely Opera House.

Village des Bories
Close to Gordes, nestled into the Vaucluse, you’ll find Bories, a historic monument, which paints a priceless picture of life in Provence, from way back when through to the present day.

Explore rambling paths leading through the scrub, lightly shaded by the holm oaks, to find a group of thirty dry stone huts, now revived and restored following a meticulous ten year programme.

These original buildings in their pure and simple state represent an architectural masterpiece. The stones, skilfully stacked into huts without use of mortar, and topped with corbelled vault ceilings. A wonderful step back into Provence’s magical history.

Zoo de la Barben
This lovely zoo is a great day out for the whole family, open every day of the year, it’s home to over 130 species of animals set in a relaxing park environment.

Haribo Sweet Museum
If you can cope with a bit of a sugar rush take a drive out to the nearby Haribo factory and museum in Uzes. Believe it or not it can also be educational, with games and experiments for little ones to get involved with, and a well laid out museum outlining its history dating back to 1862. And of course there are sweets!

The route there takes you past another great attraction - the Pont du Gard the Roman Aqueduct.

Thouzon Caves
If the above ground gets a little warm, why not venture below? Thouzon is brimming with underworld wonders which can’t fail to amaze. Impress the whole family with your detailed knowledge of stalagmites and stalactites (tites go down!!)

Le Jarditrain
This is a wonderful park in Saint Didier is set out with miniature trains and meandering tracks going through valleys, gorges and model towns. Any little train enthusiasts and Thomas fans will be enthralled from the moment you step out of the car.

Les Haras de Lagnes
If you like your horses, take a trip to the nearby stables at Lagnes, with 26 ponies and 14 horses. From beginners to advanced, there’s something for everyone - dressage, jumping, cross country, trek, vaulting, driving, pony-games, excursions, official contest in Jumping, Dressage and Eventing competitions.

Or make a day of it and enjoy a ride on the beach, combined with a picnic and swim.

Experience a new programme of cultural events in the cultural hub of the Carrières rooms and galleries, with audio visual shows, live shows, concerts, lectures, and more. The ‘Carrières de Lumières’ offers one big new show every year profiling the greatest names in the History of Art.
