Christie Family, October 2018
We loved the Hillside resort. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially in the Kidside where Anri and his team really went above and beyond to entertain and make the holiday special for the kids. The facilities were great and very tastefully done. We would love to go back!
The Patrick Family, June 2015
Everything was as advertised on your website and the service from your team was great, especially as we booked at such short notice.
Family stayed April 2015
I couldn't recommend Hillside more highly. The facilities are absolutely top drawer, the food is wonderful (both quality and quantity), the staff are incredibly helpful and the location / scenery is stunning. My expectations were surpassed on every level.

The family rooms are suitable for a family of four, with two bedrooms, shower-room and an outdoor terrace.
Entering the main bedroom from the small terrace, you’ll notice the stylish decor and crisp, white bed linen. There is ample storage space and an electronic safe, mini bar, wall-mounted television, air conditioning, Bluetooth speaker system, and WiFi.
The shower-room is off the terrace and, like any 5* hotel, is modern and well stocked with luxury toiletries. A hair dryer is also provided and a baby bath can be arranged should you need one.
The small second bedroom is also found off the terrace and a single bed with roll-away guest bed for a second child, or space for a cot. Please be aware the roll away bed does fill most of the floor space.
From the cool indoors, head out to your private terrace with bougainvillea climbing the walls and just take in the view. Relax on the sofa and watch as sailing boats glide serenely below on the water.
There is so much to do at this resort you may find it difficult to choose where to start.
Beaches and swimming:
The first place you will want to explore is one of the three beaches, all of which are exclusive to the resort and without any neighbouring resorts or hotels. The blue flag rated Main Beach is open to all resort residents and is home to bars, cafes and the resort harbour; where gulets and yachts are berthed. It has a long stretch of soft white sand, dotted with loungers as well as floating pontoons for sunbathing and a 315 metre swimming lane across the bay.
For a quieter spot, head to Silent Beach, one of two adult only beaches. A short stroll along a waterside path brings you to this pristine beach where no mobile phones are allowed and the only sounds are the lapping of the sea and the rustle of wind in the pine trees. This is where early morning yoga is held, the perfect spot for a meditative savasana. The Sanda Nature Spa can also be found here.
If you’re after splendid isolation, catch a little boat from the harbour or walk 650 metres through a pine forest to reach Serenity Beach. With its own bar and cafe, this is a little slice of paradise for adults wanting complete escape.
Back in the resort, there is an impressive swimming pool spanning 760 square metres, surrounded by loungers, including a shallow area for children.
If you prefer something more active than lying on the beach or swimming, Hillside has an impressive array of water sports. Sailors and windsurfers can catch the gentle breezes or master the trapeze on a catamaran. Or go for maximum speed and thrills with water-skiing, wakeboarding, sky-skiing or knee boarding. You could also head under water to admire the sea life. The resort offers diving and snorkeling for beginners through to advanced, plus the option to earn SSI, PADI and CMAS certificates. Note that these courses carry an additional charge as do all motorised water sports.
Activities on land
There is something for everyone here. Your challenge will be trying to fit it all in.
The fully equipped gym will give you a great work out. You could also try one of the many fitness classes, from yoga on the beach to zumba, pilates, and aquafit.
If ball sports are your thing, there’s tennis, basketball, football, water polo and volleyball. For something a bit different, try archery, Latin dance or any of the creative craft classes like ceramics, painting or jewellery design.
You can also pay for private tennis lessons or hire a mountain bike and explore the countryside.
With all that exercise you will be ready for a massage. The two spas at the resort make it easy to be completely pampered.
If you want a traditional Turkish spa experience, the Sanda Spa is the place to go. It has a Turkish bath, sauna, jacuzzi, snow fountain, and seven massage rooms. Once you’re scrubbed and rubbed, you can relax in the spa lounge.
In contrast, the Sanda Nature Spa is a natural oasis situated next to Silent Beach. The Balinese therapists provide a range of soothing treatments with the gentle sounds of the sea and a warm breeze as the backdrop.
Babies, kids and teens
Children haven’t been forgotten. This is their holiday too and they will have the time of their lives.
For the youngest guests (under the age of four), you are very welcome to accompany them to KidSide – a wonderful children’s zone – where they can play in the huge sand pit, on the climbing frames or use the pools.
Children aged four to seven can head to KidSide every day from 9.30am to 6pm. This separate part of the resort is exclusively for kids and has two swimming pools, water slides, a sand pit, sports facilities, craft tables and plenty of games. Trained staff will keep kids busy having fun all day long.
Eight to 13 year olds are welcomed in Junior Club. Here they can do sailing courses, play a range of sports, learn hip-hop or how to be a DJ and have hours of water fun. At night, they can join in floodlit football tournaments or just chill out with a PlayStation. The club runs from 10am till 11pm and has professional staff making sure kids are well taken care of.
Teens will love having others their own age to hang out with at Young Club. Water sports, beach volleyball, DJ courses, their own jacuzzi or hitting the dance floor are just some of the activities put on for this age group.
In the evenings, babysitting can be requested (at extra cost) and is done by the hotel staff, so availability depends on the time of year and how busy the hotel is. Our advice is to ask and book well in advance as they can’t guarantee availability.
Restaurants and bars
One of the best things about this holiday is that you don’t have to cook, clean or shop for food. Everything is provided at a choice of three restaurants and seven bars. All meals are included in the holiday price, with soft drinks and local alcoholic beverages included when you dine at the Main Restaurant.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea are all available from the Main Restaurant. It has a vast buffet so that there’s something for even the pickiest eaters. Get freshly cooked specialities at cooking stations or try pide, Turkish pizza, straight from the magic oven. There’s even a ‘Baby Chef’ ready to create a meal there and then for babies and toddlers – not something you see very often!
Give the kids an early dinner at the Main Restaurant, then head off to Pasha on the Bay for a romantic adults-only meal. Take in the views as you sample Mediterranean dishes from the à la carte menu. Pasha also has a disco three nights a week from midnight, when soup is served for anyone still hungry. Also, if you miss breakfast due to early morning yoga, you can get a late light breakfast at Pasha.
The Beach Bar and Restaurant serves light snacks all day including a barbeque from midday. When the stars come up, it is transformed into a romantic Italian restaurant with tables set right next to the water.
There are plenty of bars dotted around the resort to keep you refreshed all day including Pasha Bar, Pool Bar, Fitness Bar, Blue Bar and Abacco, which is where you’ll also see many of the evening shows.
There’s something different on every night, with singers, dancers and full on parties, like the zumba fitness party or full moon parties. Gala movie nights are held on the beach too – sit back and watch a film right next to the sea.
There’s a small shopping arcade with several boutiques, a hairdresser, photographer, ATM, currency exchange, internet cafe, and ice cream parlour.
The entire resort is enclosed but there are large open spaces throughout. Children should be supervised at all times when not at kids’ club, particularly around swimming pools.
The live entertainment can involve stage shows and music, so on occasion can be heard in the background across the resort until around 10pm; when we were there it was certainly not sufficient to disturb our enjoyment and could not be heard in the suite.
You might wonder why you’d want to go anywhere else with so much to do at the resort, but Turkey is packed full of history and beautiful beaches, so it’s worth exploring by land or sea.
On your doorstep
The closest town to the resort is just 4km away. Fethiye is a charming seaside town with a bustling bazaar and plenty of seafront cafes and bars. Be sure to try out the kebabs, pizza or fresh fish.
Head out to sea
This is a stunning stretch of coastline and what better way to see Turkey than from the deck of a traditional gulet or luxury yacht. You can book many different trips from the team at Hillside Outside, including a full day trip taking in 12 islands, a sunset trip or a moonlight cruise. You can even book a fishing boat with a master fisherman and perfect your angling skills.
You don’t have to travel by car or coach to see Turkey if you stay on land. Try trekking by foot. There is a beautiful walk between Kaya Köy and Afkule Monastery or try the Sunset Trek for stunning evening skies. Horseback safaris, jeep safaris and mountain bike adventures are also an option. Just speak to reception about what you want to see.
There are many historic sites worth visiting in the region. Wander through Kaya Köy (22 mins), a ghost town of Greek style houses now kept as a museum village.
For natural splendour, try Öludeniz (23 mins). This 40 metre deep lagoon has remarkable shades of turquoise and aquamarine, and has one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean.
For an ancient acropolis and cliffs carved with sarcophagi and tombs, head to Tlos (50 mins). This is one of the most important religious centres in Lycia and is the oldest city in the region, mythological home of Bellerophon and Pegasus.
Nearby, for something completely different, try Saklikent Gorge. This is a natural water-carved canyon where you can walk, swim in hot springs or go rubber tubing.
For the romantics, the ancient city of Pinara (57 mins) has a heart shaped temple dedicated to Aphrodite. There are also magnificent ruins of temples, royal tombs, an acropolis and much more.
If you’re prepared to drive an hour and a half you will reach Patara. Rumoured to be the birthplace of Apollo. This once flourishing maritime city is now one of the region’s most beautiful spots. Besides its incredible 18 km beach, a sand-buried city has been excavated, with stunning masonry still in excellent condition.
There are many other destinations if you are willing to travel further. Simply ask at the resort reception to book a tour or hire a car and self drive.
Before booking, please read our Terms and Conditions.
Due to the topography of the resort, guests with mobility problems may experience difficulties reaching all the facitilites.
