Indoors & Outdoors

Indoors

Entering through the main door, you’ll find yourself on the middle level of the villa; although separate, the rooms on this floor have wide, open entranceways, so the rooms flow easily and there’s a relaxing open plan feel.

The light and airy living area on this level has floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome in the beautiful sea views.

There are three comfy sofas in here with a television and DVD player.  As well as the children’s DVDs available, you’ll be able to access some UK satellite channels (from 2016), so nobody has to panic about missing their morning programmes.

From here, the patio doors lead right out onto the pool terrace.

The kitchen is very modern and well-equipped for your every need, and from here, you can walk through to a dining area.

Two of the twin bedrooms are on this floor, both with large built-in wardrobes and their own en suite bathrooms containing a bath and shower.

Stairs lead up to a large double bedroom, which has an en suite bathroom with a shower and doors leading out onto the roof terrace.

In the evenings, you can take the baby monitor up to the roof terrace to enjoy a glass of wine and unwind after the kids have drifted off to sleep.

From the ground floor, the stairs lead down to a self-contained lower ground floor, which has a double bedroom, two twin rooms and a family bathroom, suitable for another family.

This will be the best place for a family with younger children as the bedrooms are all close to each other.

There’s also a separate living area with comfy sofas.  If the book-filled shelves, satellite television and DVD player aren’t enough to keep the family entertained, the games room also leads off from this living area.

In the games room, there are lots of toys to please little ones of all ages as well as table tennis, which older children will enjoy.

Parent Points:

  • There’s a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs that lead up to the master bedroom; however, if children are in this room, please keep the bedroom door closed to prevent access to the stairs from the top
  • The first floor balcony door should be kept locked to prevent unsupervised access
  • One of the lower ground floor twin bedrooms does not have any external windows so there is no natural light in this room; although this does mean that there’ll be no sunlight creeping in to wake up little ones, so you may be thankful!

Outdoors

The small garden and lower level pool terrace are accessed from the living area on the ground floor and there’s a dining area with table and chairs just outside.

Stairs lead down to the pool level, with a wall and gate to keep the pool area secure when you’re not using it.

The nine metre long pool has roman steps leading down into the shallow end, making it easier for the not-so-confident swimmers to get in and out.

There’s lots of seating and loungers around the pool edge with shaded areas for little ones to cool off.

The pool is heated from the beginning of November to the beginning of May and will be naturally heated from the sun for the rest of the year.

If you choose to, though, the pool can be heated at an extra cost during the other months.

You can also enjoy alfresco meals with the built-in barbecue and outdoor dining table.

Upstairs on the spacious first floor roof terrace, there’s plenty of seating and shade, with amazing views out to the sea and mountains; the warm climate and stunning views will make you want to eat out here every day.

Following the hillside costal promenade takes you to the Marina Rubicon where you can find all sorts of cafes, restaurants and shops, so you won’t have to go far for food and drink on this holiday.

Parent Points:

  • There are steps down from the living area to the garden; a baby gate is supplied to prevent unsupervised access to these steps
  • There are stairs leading down to the pool terrace, please lock this gate when the area is unsupervised

What's Around?

Marina Rubicon and Playa Blanca

The villa is close to the Marina Rubicon, which is the largest private marina on the island; an up-market area, parents will love the cobbled streets and boutique shops.

From the marina, there’s a sea front promenade which goes all the way to Playa Blanca and is lined with shops and restaurants, and has stunning views across to Fuerteventura.

Playa Blanca used to be a fairly small fishing village until quite recently, so although it has now developed into a bustling town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes, it is still peaceful.

AquaLava Lanzarote Water Park

This is a fun day out for any water babies and their water loving parents just a 10 minute drive from the villa.  AquaLava is a wonderful water park which prides itself on its renewable energy technology to heat the water.

As well as a range of fun water slides, it has plenty for younger children, including the water castles and interactive games.

There’s also a restaurant on site for hungry mouths; although attached to a hotel complex, it is open to the public seven days per week from 10am until 6pm.

Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park

This is a full-on day out, with hundreds of animals to see; you can see sea lions, ride ponies, watch birds of prey, and even go canoeing or swimming.  There’s also plenty of green space to relax or run around in.

The park is open from 9:30am until 5:30pm all year round and is a 30 minute drive from the villa.

Lanzarote Aquarium

The largest aquarium in the Canary Islands is in Costa Teguise, with hundreds of species in 33 tanks and over a million litres of water.

There are three viewing pools where both adults and children can learn about species such as sea cucumbers and sea urchins, and have the chance to touch them too!

The aquarium is open daily from 10am until 6pm.

Discover Cesar Manrique

No one has had a greater influence on Lanzarote than architect and artist Cesar Manrique; it’s thanks to Manrique that the island has escaped much of the high-rise development of other Canary Islands.

You can visit the house that he created within a series of volcanic bubbles, which fascinates visitors; there’s also a café here in the stunning gardens and it is a 40 minute drive from the villa.

Experience the volcano

You can’t escape the influence of Lanzarote’s volcanoes while you’re on the island: a devastating eruption in 1730 covered the land in ash and lava, creating the unusually black volcanic landscapes it’s so famous for.

The best spot to discover more is Timanfaya National Park, which has been used as the location for several science fiction films and is a 20 minute drive from the villa.

Take a bus tour around the moonlike scenery, and see some crowd pleasing tricks using the heat of the magma below – like a bucket of water shooting out of the earth as steam.

With the chance to have your lunch barbecued using volcanic heat, it’s a lot of fun for kids too; the bus is baby-friendly, although active toddlers might get a little bored.
