Indoors & Outdoors

As you enter through the glass and oak door, you’ll find yourself in a traditional pebbled stone hallway, where there is a cushioned chair.

Straight ahead, there is a dining area with a modern full-sized dining table and to the left, there is a small kitchen, which retains the rustic charm of the property with the original stone sink.

This leads through to a split level sitting area, which is full of comfy seating with a stone and wood beamed back wall.  There are plenty of DVDs as well as UK satellite television channels, so little ones will never miss out on watching their favourite shows.

Through this sitting area, there are stairs up to a bedroom, which is completely separate from the rest of the villa, perfect for another couple to holiday with you.  This has fitted wardrobes and a leather sofa, which can be used as a sofa bed if needed.

Every bedroom in this property is fitted with a beautifully modern glass shower, as well as a separate loo.  There’s also plenty of room for a cot in any bedroom and air conditioning for a cool nights sleep.

If you’re inviting the whole family for multi-generation holidaying, there’s also a bedroom on the ground floor, which would be ideal for grandparents.

The stunning en suite bathroom in this room combines the best of modern and traditional styles with a stone wall shower and a sunken bathtub, which has steps leading into it.  There’s a glass door that slides across here to prevent any little ones accessing the bathtub.

From the main hallway, continue up the stairs to three further bedrooms.  This is the ideal area for the family and kids to stay, as all the rooms are close to each other.

At the top of the stairs, there is a living area with bedrooms leading off from here.

The first bedroom has a door out onto a private terrace, which we recommend keeping locked when not in use.  There’s a sofa, which can be made into a sofa bed in another room and the third bedroom has a comfy seating area.

Parent Points:

  • Due to the traditional nature of the villa, there are one or two steps in the living area, which cannot be gated; wobbly walkers may need help here
  • There is a small step down into the kitchen, so take care
  • One bedroom has a door to an outdoor terrace, we recommend that you keep this locked when not in use
  • There’s a stunning sunken bath in the downstairs bedroom with a sliding glass door, which we recommend you keep closed when not in use to prevent falls

Step outside to an authentic stone terrace, where there is a table and seating, as well as plenty of trees to shade under when the sun gets too much.  There is also a second enclosed terrace around the back of the villa.

The large outdoor kitchen and dining area is the perfect place to eat all of your meals.  It is covered to get some lunchtime shade, and there’s a built-in barbecue.

The kidney-shaped swimming pool has a stone clad edge, as well as grassy areas to play on, and the views from here look out over the countryside to the distant mountains.

There’s sloped entry to the pool, which is perfect for little ones to splash about at a comfortable depth and the area is safely fenced off, so you don’t need to worry.

In fact, the entire villa is fully enclosed, so you can enjoy indoor and outdoor living in peace.

What's Around?

Just three kilometres from the villa, the village of Búger should definitely be your first port of call.  Simply wander around its charming streets and shaded squares, keeping an eye open for the wonderful windmills dotted around.

The Moli de Can Garindo, in particular has been fully restored to its former glory and the church of Sant Pere is also well worth a visit.  Market day is Saturday, if you’re looking to pick up some tasty treats and local produce.

Acudia Beach at Port de Alcudia is a 20 minute drive away and is popular with families.  It is easy to see why when you see the stretches of golden sand and shallow turquoise water, and there’s always quiet spots to find, even when it is busy.

It’s quite a walk out into the sea before the water is deep enough to swim in, so you can breathe easy when it comes to the little ones splashing about.  There’ll be lifeguards on duty during busier times and there are plenty of showers and loos.

If you wander along the beach, there’s a range of cafes and bars to relax in, so you’re sure to find one that the whole family can enjoy.

If you head south east from Búger, you’ll find the pretty harbour resort of Porto Cristo, packed with lots of lovely fishing boats. It’s also home to the caves of Drach – ‘the Dragon Caves’.

Beautifully lit, you can take in the magnitude of these incredible formations along well laid out paths, or drift over Lake Martel through the illuminated caves on an underground boat trip.  There are also lovely gardens to have a good run around afterwards and a bar for a well-earned drink!

Other days out

Towards the west of the island, the towns of Sóller and Fornalutx make great days out.

Sóller is the end destination of a wonderful train journey from Palma and is known for its amber-coloured train with authentic wooden carriages, which the little ones will love; it’s a lovely place to peruse the shops, have lunch, or hop on the little tram to go down to the port.

Sóller is also well known for its ice cream, so make sure you call in to Sa Fabrica de Gelats, a friendly little artisan ice cream factory, just off the main square by the tram stop.

Fornalutx is en route to Sóller; it’s a lovely little village regarded by many as the most beautiful village on Mallorca.  It’s known for the strange symbols that are painted on many of the tiled rooftops.

You can pick up a leaflet to find out where the best ones are, and take the kids on a hunt around the village to spot as many as you can.

Water parks

If you’re feeling like some water park fun, it’s worth heading down towards Palma for Western Water Park, just outside Magaluf or Aqualand in El Arenal to the south of Palma.

At both parks, there is Kidzworld, a fun area suitable for the littlest ones, with small to big slides for all ages to enjoy.  They also both have Jacuzzi areas if you find the time to relax in amongst all the fun.
