Thornton Family, July 2018
We had a wonderful holiday. The property was perfect for our large party of people. The outdoor space and pool where perfect and the added pool alarm gave us extra security of preventing any unattended swimming. Each bedroom was large with a great bathroom and the down stairs had everything we needed. Only draw back was the heat. It was in the mid 30s during our visit and the house has no air con which meant for very hot nights, which the baby found difficult. Apart from that it was a fabulous holiday in a gorgeous location. Also the washing machine was broken when we arrived but a new one was fitted before left which was great.

I spent two very relaxing weeks at this gorgeous and very stylish villa with my wife, two children and my very amazing and fun in-laws. The accommodation lacks absolutely nothing. Located in a private location with no overlooking neighbours. The owner, a kind and understanding person, was very generous. Would love to go back but for an even longer stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa was great and the owners were very accommodating. We had a lot of young children with us and it suited our needs well. We would definitely recommend it.

Blending traditional charm with modern practicalities, this stunning 18th century farmhouse is the perfect family haven.
Entering into a light, airy veranda from the courtyard, steps lead down into a spacious living area with well-stocked bookshelves and eclectic styling.
Leading to the right, there is a beautiful living and dining area; the living area is perfect for hosting movie nights with comfy sofas and a large, flat-screen television and DVD player – there are plenty of DVDs to suit all ages.
Heading from the centre of the room, three steps lead down to a convenient downstairs loo to the left and a kitchen straight ahead; the kitchen has been lovingly restored with exposed stone walls and vaulted, wooden beamed ceilings.
As well as a dishwasher and washing machine, you’ll have use of a microwave, steriliser and hand-held blender as part of our Essential Kit Guarantee.
The patio doors from the kitchen open out to a driveway, and off to the right of the doors, there is a utility room, which houses a fridge freezer and bikes for families who fancy a cycle around the countryside.
There is a playpen gate installed at the bottom of the stairs and a removable gate at the top, where you will find four bedrooms.
There are two double bedrooms leading off the corridor with en suite bathrooms; both bathrooms have a walk-in shower. The double room at the end of the corridor has wardrobes and a television, too.
Straight ahead is a comfy sitting room with a wall-mounted television and sofa, perfect for entertaining older children. There is a shower room leading off from here and a twin bedroom can be located further down the corridor.
The corridor to the right leads on to two adjoining rooms: one has a single pull-out bed, and the other can either be used as a play room or as a double bedroom with the help of a sofa bed. They have their own shower room and plenry of toys for the little ones to enjoy.
There is a laundry room on the first floor and all rooms have a single-step entrance, so care should be taken.
The additional annex room off the courtyard makes Maison Le Rieu the perfect retreat for families travelling with grandparents, a nanny or another couple. This stunning private space has a double step-up to the double bed, which sits beneath a charming stone archway; the stylish pebble-trimmed en suite has a separate bath and round shower.
Outside, the property is enclosed by a high stone wall and has a fence surrounding the adjoining garden, so little ones can play freely out on the grass. Surrounded by olive groves, there are plenty of shaded spots within the garden and courtyard, for when the sun gets too hot.
The main doors open out to a paved courtyard with gravel edges and a lovely array of plants and trees; the outside seating makes it the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine when tired little ones are tucked up in bed.
Leading off from the courtyard is the enclosed terrace and pool deck. Complete with fun inflatables for youngsters to enjoy, the pool is raised on a deck, is alarmed and has six steps leading from the terrace to the pool, so curious little ones are safe from harm’s way. The pool is heated and there are sun loungers poolside.
With an outdoor dining area and large, portable barbecue on the terrace, you can make the most of the day’s sun and dine alfresco. Leading off from the gated terrace is the adjoining lawn, perfect for family picnics.
